Therapy. We've all heard of it, know someone who tried it or have dived deeper into it ourselves. I have, and boy, has it changed my life.
I sat down in conversation with Shane O'Brien, a therapist and supervisor who was an actor and singer for many years. Recognising the need for unity in diversity, he has been involved in the fields of personal development and community development for over 25 years.
Human growth and development is fascinating and it is my strong belief that at some point, it has to include some sort of therapy work with a trusted counsellor or a therapist. It wasn't until my own sessions with a psychosynthesis trainer, was I able to start fully processing and integrating my life experiences.
In this episode, Shane and I discuss all things therapy - how do you choose the right therapist and how do you know the type of therapy is suitable for you? What are some of the red flags to watch out for when working with a therapist? Everything you wanted to know about therapy and more in this informative and eye-opening episode.
"...everyone has a story. And everyone has a story worth telling and hearing, and being heard. And I think, actually, just the witnessing is probably the most therapeutic part of this work." - Shane O'Brien
